The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Trans Amadi Branch, has reaffirmed its commitment to industrial safety and sustainable engineering by donating essential safety kits to the TURN Plastic Recycling Plant in Port Harcourt.

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative is designed to foster safer work environments while supporting local innovations that drive environmental preservation.

During the presentation, branch chairman, Jonathan Francis, said safety remains the branch’s primary focus, as he urged plant management to maintain a rigorous “safety first” culture and pledged the branch’s ongoing technical support to the facility.

“We remain committed to supporting institutions contributing meaningfully to environmental sustainability. The TURN Plant is helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions through rigorous recycling, and we are proud to stand behind such an impactful initiative,” he stated.

Emeka Onyeka, representing TURN Plastic management, received the kits and thanked the NSE for fulfilling its promise of technical partnership, while he noted that the gesture strengthens the company’s resolve to maintain high safety standards.

The TURN Plastic Recycling Plant is a joint CSR initiative of TotalEnergies EP Nigeria, NNPC Limited, and UNITAR. The facility is designed to recycle over 1,000 tonnes of plastic waste annually and reduce over 750 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year, an environmental benefit equivalent to planting 4,500 trees.
