The 8th Nigerian Risk Awards and Summit (NRA) has announced its forthcoming event, set to take place on June 4 in Lagos under the theme, “Anticipatory Governance, Risk and Foresight: Preparing Nigeria for a Resilient and Inclusive Future.” The summit promises to be a beacon of collaboration, learning and excellence in the realm of risk management

According to Damilola Sonayon, Director NRA, the event serves as a biennial cornerstone, convening industry leaders, risk management professionals, policymakers and experts to engage in crucial discussions, celebrate achievements and explore innovative approaches to risk management. Against the backdrop of today’s dynamic global and economic challenges, the theme underscores the urgency and necessity of anticipatory governance, national risk exposure and foresight in both policymaking and business. To this end, NRA is also partnering the office of the Vice President Kashim Shettima on the successful hosting of the awards ceremony.

While also speaking to newsmen in a virtual meeting, the Managing Partner of Conrad Clark Nigeria Limited, Bola Johnson, noted that the 8th NRA emphasises the significance of building public understanding of anticipatory governance, national risk exposure and the power of foresight in policy making and business. This year’s summit aims to prepare Nigeria for the future by providing insights as recommendations for advocacy, policy reforms and public education. The event will facilitate ongoing, direct dialogue among leaders, citizens, subject matter experts, policy stakeholders and representatives from the private sector.

Key activities at the 8th NRA include an award ceremony recognising outstanding achievements in risk management, summit sessions featuring thought-provoking panel discussions and keynote addresses, an innovation showcase highlighting cutting-edge solutions, networking opportunities to encourage collaboration and specialised workshops and training sessions. Entries for the awards opened on February 1, and will close on April 24, providing organisations and professionals ample opportunity to submit their nominations.

CEOs and executives, risk managers and professionals, government officials, academia, technology providers, financial institutions, insurance & pension companies and industry associations, comprise the diverse target audience of the summit. Various sponsorship opportunities are available for organisations seeking to demonstrate their commitment to excellence in risk management and gain visibility among key industry stakeholders.

The summit promises to be an enriching experience, fostering a culture of anticipatory governance, resilience and sustainable growth. By bringing together thought leaders and industry experts, the event aims to contribute to preparing Nigeria for the future.
