Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the newly inaugurated Reconciliation Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has assured aggrieved members and aspirants that no one would be sidelined in the party’s ongoing peace process.
Chairman of the committee, Olufemi Lanlehin, former vice chairman of the Senate Committee on National Planning, and Co-chairman, Prof Taoreed Adedoja, former Minister of Sports and Special Duties, pledged that every grievance arising from the party’s recent congresses and primary elections would be addressed to reposition the APC for victory in next year’s governorship and general elections.
The duo gave the assurance while accepting their appointments at the inauguration of the committee held at the APC Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, on Wednesday.
They commended the state executive of the party, under the chairmanship of Chief Moses Adeyemo, a.former deputy governor of the state, for setting up the committee.
They described the initiative as a timely intervention, capable of restoring confidence and strengthening the party ahead of the polls.
According to them, the committee would work to reconcile all aggrieved members and ensure that every stakeholder is carried along in the renewed drive to build a united and formidable APC in the state.
Earlier, Adeyemo charged members of the committee to deploy their goodwill, experience and credibility in resolving disputes generated by the party’s congresses and recent primaries.

He acknowledged that the exercises had produced grievances among some members and stakeholders but insisted that the party would not allow such disagreements to degenerate into a crisis capable of jeopardising its electoral fortunes.
“We are not oblivious of the fact that the outcome of the last congresses, which produced executive committee members for the party at all levels, as well as the recent primaries which produced candidates for the 2027 elections, left in their wake some grievances among certain members and stakeholders.
“But we do not want this to snowball into an intractable crisis capable of undermining our chances at the polls.”
Adeyemo assured aggrieved party members that the leadership remained open to dialogue and was committed to addressing their concerns through peaceful engagement.
Expressing confidence in the calibre of those appointed into the committee, Adeyemo said he expected them to deliver results within the next few weeks to guarantee lasting peace before, during and after the 2027 elections.
He added that although internal agitations reflected the APC’s status as a major political force, the party would not take anything for granted as it targets delivering one million votes to President Bola Tinubu and reclaiming the Oyo State Government House in Agodi in 2027.
