Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has declared 2026 a pivotal “golden global opportunity” for Nigeria to showcase its cultural heritage and reshape its international image, as the country prepares to host the World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) in Abuja.

NIPR President, Ike Neliaku, made the declaration in a New Year message released to journalists on Friday through the institute’s Director of Public Relations, Stanley Ogadigo. He highlighted the event’s massive scale, with delegates from 126 countries—including presidents, ministers, PR association leaders, and top government advisers—expected to converge on Nigeria.
Neliaku noted that NIPR has spent the last nine months collaborating with stakeholders at home and abroad to secure hosting rights and deliver what he called “the greatest reputation project” for the nation.

“For us at the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), this represents hope for the country, provides a lifetime opportunity to redefine the reputation of Nigeria, and holds great prospects in turning around the economy of the nation,” Neliaku stated.
He urged the Federal Government, sub-national leaders, corporate organizations, and all stakeholders to invest heavily in the forum.

According to him, the WPRF offers a “robust platform for Nigeria to tell its story of greatness and reverse the current growing negative perception.”
