Kenneth Okonkwo, lawyer and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, has sharply criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of treating Nigerians as if they were slaves.
“So Nigerians are worth the levels of slaves in Tinubu’s government.”
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Okonkwo accused Tinubu’s government of corruption and politicising every aspect of governance, including security.
He warned that ordinary citizens are being exploited under policies he described as self-serving and harmful to the nation.
“This lame, incompetent, lying, and corrupt government. The only thing they do is to piloticise everything they do, including security.”

“I told you that the state police will not come. Tinubu will continue to play the politics of it. Tinubu is incapable of solving the insecurity problem,” he said.
Okonkwo’s remarks come amid growing public frustration over rising insecurity, economic hardship, and perceived mismanagement in various sectors of government.
He maintained that the administration’s failure to implement effective security measures has made Nigerians vulnerable to violence and criminal activity.
The ADC chieftain further stated that the government has become part of a “criminal gang” by prioritising personal and political interests over the welfare of citizens, describing this as a betrayal of public trust.
“The government is now part of the criminal gang that is buying and selling Nigerians,” he said.
His comments add to mounting criticism of the Tinubu-led administration as calls for accountability and urgent reforms in governance and security continue to grow across the country.
