The 2025 edition underscored the transformative role of mobile filmmaking in today’s creative landscape. With smartphones becoming increasingly advanced, the festival highlighted how accessibility and innovation are empowering emerging filmmakers worldwide.
According to F.Clay Ejeh, The Dean and Organizer of CIMFF, the event was designed to “celebrate the power of simplicity and the creativity that thrives when barriers to entry are removed.”
“This festival is proof that great storytelling no longer depends on expensive equipment,” Ejeh said. “Mobile filmmaking has become a tool of empowerment giving every creator the chance to share their unique voice with the world.”
Beyond the award presentations, the festival featured interactive sessions and workshops led by accomplished filmmakers, cinematographers, and mobile content creators. Participants gained insights into editing on mobile devices, storytelling techniques, and the future of digital cinema, while exploring opportunities to collaborate with other professionals in the creative industry.
The CIMFF Development Grant was also presented to support the continuous artistic growth of selected winners, reflecting the festival’s long-term commitment to nurturing creative talent and strengthening international collaboration among mobile filmmakers.
CIMFF aims to become the world’s leading platform for celebrating innovation in mobile filmmaking, inspiring a global community of storytellers to explore new creative possibilities and connect through the universal language of film.
The organisers announced that preparations are already underway for the 2026 edition, which will feature expanded categories, international partnerships, and additional grant opportunities for emerging creators.
CIMFF extended its appreciation to all participants and congratulated the 2025 winners for their exceptional contributions to global storytelling.
“Every film showcased this year proved that powerful stories can be told through the smallest screens,” Ejeh said. “What matters is the heart, message, and imagination behind the lens.”
