The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for the Kogi West senatorial district, Stephen Karimi, has said he was confident he would win the February polls in a landslide.

Karimi while fielding questions from newsmen on Wednesday at the Lokoja APC C party secretariat said with his popularity and the level of support he has so far received, he was sure that that support will translate into victory for him.

Karimi, a former member of the National Assembly, said in the last few days he has been meeting with stakeholders in the seven local government areas that make up the senatorial district to canvas for their support.

He said so far, he has visited traditional rulers, union leaders, party bigwigs, market women, community leaders and every group that could help to facilitate his election and expressed satisfaction with the receptions variously accorded him.

On whether he has reconciled with some prominent members of the party who were aggrieved during the party’s primary, he said he had tried his best to reconcile with some while some of them still feel recalcitrant.

He however pleaded with everyone within the ruling party to forget any misgiving and team up together to support him and other APC candidates to win in the next month’s general election.

Karimi said if elected, he would ensure that all the major dilapidated roads in the district will be fixed and employment opportunities provided for youths roaming the streets.
