Members of the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation were furious, on Monday, over the five percent equity allotted to the country in the proposed national carrier, Nigeria Air.

The lawmakers expressed their displeasure at an interactive meeting between the committee and the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika on the proposed Nigeria Air.

Sirika had told the lawmakers that the country has five percent equity, while investors have 46 percent share, with 41 percent share for Ethiopian Air.

The chairman of the committee, Nnolim Nnaji, while speaking at the meeting, said the shares allotment is tantamount to mortgaging the interest of the country to Ethiopia.
