Niger CAN condemns killing of Catholic Priest by gunmen

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Niger state chapter has condemned in strong term, the gruesome killing of the Catholic Priest of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kaffin Koro, in Paikoro local government area of Niger State, Reverend Father Isaac Achi.

The Christian body In a statement, in Minna by its Chairman, Most Rev Bulus Dauwa Yohanna described the killing of late Reverend Achi who was burned to ashes as a dastard act.

The CAN Chairman while condoling with the catholic diocese of Minna, Parishioners and the entire Christian community in the state as well as the immediate family of the deceased priest, prayed for the repose soul of Rev. Fr Achi and souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace.

The CAN chairman therefore called on the government, the Police and other security agencies to double their efforts in tackling Banditry and insecurity.
He called for investigations into the attacks, adding that the culprits must be brought to book.

“Enough of the attacks and wanton killings of innocent Nigeria citizens.
“One of the primary responsibilities of government is to protect lives and property of the people you govern”
Until his death, he was the CAN Coordinator for Paikoro Local Government, the Dean and Parish Priest of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church kaffinkoro in Minna Diocese.
