Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has congratulated citizens of Adamawa State and Nigerians nationwide on the dawn of the New Year 2026, calling for renewed commitment to love, forgiveness, reconciliation, and service to God and humanity.
In a New Year message released on Thursday by his press secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri said the collective acceptance of one another, regardless of differences, would make 2026 a more peaceful and less challenging year for the country.
“If all Nigerians carry the spirit of accepting each other as one, the year 2026 will be peaceful and less challenging,” the governor said.
He urged Nigerians to reflect on their blessings over the past year and give thanks to God for the gift of life and the opportunity to witness another year. The governor also expressed gratitude to the people of Adamawa State for their steadfast support over the past six and a half years, assuring them that his administration would continue to support citizens in achieving their personal and collective aspirations.
Governor Fintiri acknowledged the economic and security challenges faced in recent times but encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful and prayerful, stressing that recovery and progress are achievable through collective effort. According to him, stronger synergy between government, the private sector, and citizens remains key to overcoming national challenges and unlocking new growth opportunities.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to safety and stability, the governor said the Adamawa State Government would continue to invest in security, intelligence gathering, and preventive measures to curb crime across the state. He commended security agencies for their sacrifices and dedication to maintaining peace and order.
On development priorities, Governor Fintiri reiterated that his government’s commitment to human capital development remains unwavering, particularly through youth and women empowerment programmes and entrepreneurship schemes. He added that infrastructure development, including the execution of legacy projects, would continue across all senatorial districts of the state.
Calling for unity and collective responsibility, the governor urged citizens to join hands in building a new Adamawa State “where no one will be left behind and nothing will be left untouched.”
He concluded by wishing Nigerians a memorable and prosperous New Year, pledging to continue working diligently to meet the expectations of the people in the remaining period of his administration.
