The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), has commenced a five-day intensive training on networking and cybersecurity for 50 youths in Warri, Delta State.
The training, which began today, is being executed by Divine Communications Integrated Services Limited on behalf of NCDMB as part of efforts to build digital skills and create employment opportunities for young people in the Niger Delta.
The programme is expected to equip 50 selected participants with practical, job-ready skills in modern network infrastructure, ethical hacking fundamentals, threat detection and data protection.
Speaking at the opening session, representatives of Divine Communications said the course was designed to close the skills gap in Nigeria’s growing ICT and cybersecurity sector. Participants will undergo hands-on sessions on router/switch configuration, network security and cyber risk management.
Youths, who gathered for the commencement of the programme, expressed optimism that the training would position them to compete for remote and on-site roles in IT support, network administration and
cybersecurity.
The five-day training will run through the week and will conclude with the issuance of certificates to participants.
