The Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) is set for the 2024 Super 4 in Kaduna State.

The Coordinator of the NBSL, Mahmud Hadejia, addressed the press, disclosing that the stage is set for the Super 4, scheduled for July 4–6.

“We are here for business and unity. We must understand why we are here. This is a competition, but we are here as one to show the true character of sportsmanship; beach soccer is here to stay,” Hadejia stated.

He commended the Kaduna State Government for hosting the Super 4 for the second time since 2021, acknowledging the support of Senator Uba Sani, the state governor. He also lauded the Commissioner of Sports and the Permanent Secretary for their commitment to the event.

Hadejia expressed appreciation for the facilities at Murtala Muhammed Square, hoping it could host the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup in the future. He also thanked Engineer Musa Nimrod, Chairman of the Kaduna State Beach Soccer Association, for his contributions.

Hadejia highlighted the journey of the 2024 season, which began in Kebbi State and concluded in Anambra State, with Kebbi BSC, Kada BSC, Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors, and Kebbi United BSC qualifying for the Super 4.

“I want to congratulate all the teams that participated in the league,” he said. “We might not have a large number of teams due to some challenges, but we have teams that started from the onset and are still with us. I congratulate every team, including Nmanko Patigi BSC, as we are all one family.”

He assured everyone that preparations for the Super 4 were complete, with the pitch set to offer players the best facilities.

Alhaji Mukhtar Abdullahi, Permanent Secretary of the Kaduna State Sports Commission, welcomed the teams, emphasising the unifying power of sports. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to supporting sports as a means of empowering youth.

Engineer Musa Nimrod, Chairman of the Kaduna State Beach Soccer Association and President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, welcomed the teams to Kaduna State. He expressed delight at the national team’s return to the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BSAFCON) Qualifiers after a long absence.

Nimrod urged the players to exhibit unity and not solely rely on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for support due to economic challenges. He expressed confidence in the President’s ability to secure good welfare for the national team.

The opening match of the Super 4 will feature Kebbi BSC and Kebbi United BSC, followed by a clash between host Kada BSC and Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors.
