The Navy Sailing Club, Ojo, widely regarded as Nigeria’s premier hub for water sports, successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) over the weekend, culminating in the re-election of Captain AF Adewuyi as Club Commodore for the 2025/2026 term.
Captain Adewuyi, who will be serving a second consecutive term, expressed gratitude on behalf of the newly elected executive committee. In his acceptance speech, he thanked club members for their continued trust and reaffirmed the club’s commitment to competitive excellence.
“I would like to thank all members for turning out at this AGM and returning most of us, as well as electing others, into the club executive to serve you,” Adewuyi said. “It is my desire, along with my team and with the support of our members, to continue refocusing the club into a competitive one that can stand shoulder to shoulder with others across the country.”
He emphasized the club’s renewed focus on youth development, stating that the coming year will see increased investment in training young talents to become champions capable of representing Nigeria at international competitions.
The club looks ahead to an exciting new chapter, with expectations high for increased activity, membership growth, and greater achievements on both local and international waters.
