Anticipating a just and peaceful judgment from the Appeal Court regarding the governorship election in Nasarawa State, religious adherents have initiated a seven-day joint prayer session starting on Monday, November 20.
Daily Sun reports that residents are steadfast in their prayers to ensure that the mandate bestowed upon the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, David Emmanuel Ombugadu, during the March 18 gubernatorial election is upheld with divine guidance and fairness.
Ustars Suleiman Abdullahi, emphasizing Allah’s impartiality and unwavering promises, stated, “We genuinely gave our mandate to the People’s Democratic Party PDP for a positive change in Nasarawa State, and a few people are trying to steal our mandate. We will continue to pray to Allah, who will listen to our supplications and do His will in Nasarawa State.”
Rev. Emmanuel Bako echoed this sentiment, stating, “Our God Almighty is always ahead of every principality. The will of God shall prevail and put to shame those insisting on taking the People’s mandate given to David Emmanuel Ombugadu in Nasarawa.”
Sun also gathered that Participants from various religious backgrounds, including Christians, Muslims, and other worshippers, joined the prayer session to invoke divine intervention in guiding the judges and protecting them from external influences.
Quoting Isaiah 58:11, Rev. Bako expressed faith in divine guidance, emphasising that over 95% of the state’s residents are fervently seeking God’s presence, even in their private spaces, to ensure a righteous judgment for the PDP candidate.
Expressing optimism in the Appeal Court’s delivery of justice, equity, and fair play, residents remain hopeful that the mandate given for positive change in Nasarawa State will be upheld.
Recall that the pending case at the governorship election Appeal Court stems from a challenge filed by the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Eng. Abdullahi Sule, disputing the tribunal’s declaration of Emmanuel Ombugadu as the duly elected governor after the March 18 election in Nasarawa State.
