FOLLOWING the controversy trailing the Federal Ministry of Power over the spending of money meant for the National Power Sector Apprenticeship Scheme (NAPSAS), the Coordinator of the scheme and Managing Director of Wittengeisen Limited, Mrs. Sybil Williamson, has threatened court action if the Ministry fails to account for money sent by states and individuals to support the programme.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, Williamson gave the Ministry 48 hours to do so failing which she would head for court to ensure that the money was retrieved to pay programme participants their stipends.
In addition, she said the Ministry must apologise to the participants for failing to pay them their stipends while demanding that the it should stop assassinating her name for what she knew nothing about.
“Ministry of Power must account to us and we are giving them 48 hours to account to us immediately, how the money that states gave to us was spent and how many (participants) were paid and we must confirm it with a mandate. If they do not give it to us, we are going to court. The Ministry of Power must issue a letter of apology in newspapers and it must be front page to remove my name and stop assassinating my name because they have no dealing with me as a person since the engagement was with my company. And if they do not do it, I have no choice than to take them to court,” she said.
The coordinator called for a forensic audit of the account to know the people that withdrew the money from both UBA and Aso Savings and how much was involved.
