The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), 9 Brigade Zone, in collaboration with the Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN), Lagos Chapter, has held a breast cancer awareness walk and sensitisation lecture aimed at promoting early detection and routine breast examinations among women.
The event, held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, began with an awareness walk through Onigbongbo Community and around the T.A. Lagbaja Cantonment, Ikeja. Ihezie educated the women on practical steps for self-examination and highlighted symptoms that require prompt medical attention, emphasising the importance of early diagnosis in reducing mortality.
In her remarks, the Chairperson of BRECAN Lagos Chapter, Mrs Chinenye Arih, shared her personal experience as a breast cancer survivor, attributing her recovery to early detection.
