The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 80 suspected drug dealers and dismantled 16 notorious drug joints across Kano State.
The arrests followed a week-long operation targeting major drug spots in different parts of the state.
The agency’s Public Relations Officer in Kano, Sadiq Mohammed Maigatari, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
According to him, NDLEA operatives raided several notorious drug locations, including Filin Mahaha, Koki, Dorayi, Rijiyar Lemo, Karanchi, Kazawa Kurmi, Zage, Gwammaja, Masaka and Panshekara.
He said the operation led to the recovery of various illicit drugs and drug-related paraphernalia, including cannabis sativa, diazepam, Exol-5, rubber solution and a locally known substance called “Suck and Die.”

Other items recovered, he said, included cutting agents, packaging materials, locally manufactured weapons and tools allegedly used in the illicit drug trade.
Maigatari said the suspects would be processed and prosecuted in accordance with the law, adding that investigations were ongoing to uncover and dismantle wider drug-trafficking networks operating in the state.
He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to combating illicit drug activities and restoring safety in communities across Kano.
The NDLEA spokesman warned individuals still involved in drug trafficking and other illicit drug-related activities to desist, stressing that the agency would sustain its operations until the state was rid of drug-related criminality.
“The NDLEA will not relent until Kano is drug-free,” he said.
