My account not frozen by EFCC, says ex-gov, Elechi

Former Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Martins Elechi, has denied that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) froze his bank account over campaign funds.
In a letter by Chief M. Erhenede of Mudi Erhenede & Associates, in reaction to a story published on June 9, 2016, Elechi said there was no time the anti-graft agency sealed his property.
The letter by the lawyer, dated June 20, 2016 stated: “He does not own any property or building at any College of Agriculture in Ebonyi State or anywhere else whatsoever.
“He does not own any gigantic or small hostel (CAS), anywhere in Ebonyi State. His property at Ochudo City (now Centenary City) was not sealed by EFCC as portrayed.
“His account was never frozen by EFCC, among many other facts that were portrayed falsely or wrongfully in the said publication.”
