Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata has warned against a fourth term tenure for the Kano State Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Abbas.

He threatened that any attempt  to impose the state  chairman on the party would lead to defection by his tendency from the party.

The Minister issued the warning at a local caucus meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at the Federal Secretariat in the state on Saturday

Attah, a former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly and a pro – Barau member of the party affirmed that, “We are making it loud and clear to everyone, if they retain them, we will leave and the pwill surely lose again.

“We were raised with good morals; we know who God is, we respect our scholars and elders, and we will not compromise our values. If they insist on bringing them back, we will leave the party, and i swear, the party will fall again.

“We have a strong conviction that votes do not give power, money cannot buy power, and even the voters can not give you power. It is only Allah that gives power.

“We believe that Gawuna and Garo won the 2023 election, but the result was rigged. We went to court, and it was proven that we were cheated. Yet in the end, the One who gives power did not give it to us because we challenged Him,” the Minister said.

The Minister blamed the failure of the party in the state in the 2023 elections to the poor quality of party’s leadership offered by Abdullahi Abbas.

“And up till now the same person has not changed” he stated.
