A Lagos-based grassroots radio station, Miliki 101.3 FM, has marked its fourth anniversary with recognition and presentation of cash awards to its top three callers. Mrs. Oluwafunmilola Anike Salami bagged the first prize, while Oluwafunmilayo Oba and Oluwafunmilayo Onafuwa Julius emerged second and third, respectively.
Speaking during the anniversary reception and award presentation at the station’s office in Ojodu Abiodun, Chief Henry Ajomale, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Miliki FM, thanked guests and commended listeners nationwide and in the diaspora for keeping the station’s dream alive.
Ajomale, accompanied by his wife, Adetoun, and son, Hon. Ladi Ajomale, also lauded the staff for their dedication, which, he noted, has sustained the station’s reputation as the ‘King of the Airwaves’ (Oba Ori Afefe).
Also speaking at the event, the President of the Miliki Radio Fans Club, Mr. Adegbenga Taofik, commended Ajomale for maintaining the annual awards since the station’s first anniversary.
“Four years ago, Miliki Radio came on air with a promise to entertain, inform, connect with the grassroots, and preserve Yoruba cultural heritage.
“Today, that promise has become a movement. Miliki Radio is not just a station on the dial; it is a family. Your programmes, music, news, and community engagement have made Miliki FM the heartbeat of Lagos and Ogun States, as well as a global favourite online,” he stated.
Dignitaries at the event included the Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Monsuru Oloyede, and Otunba Jide Oni, who represented the Chairman of Isolo LCDA, Otunba Adebayo Olasoju
