The Maman Aviaworld Initiative hosted the 4th edition of the Miss Aviation Nigeria Empowerment Initiative on November 21, 2024, at Sheba Centre, Ikeja, Lagos, celebrating youth empowerment and the promotion of aviation career opportunities.
The event kicked off with a glamorous red-carpet reception at 4:00 pm, followed by the main competition at 5:00 pm. After a rigorous and inspiring contest featuring eight impressive finalists, Mercy Otiaba emerged as the overall winner of the 4th Miss Aviation Nigeria Empowerment Initiative.
Chiemelie Nnadozie and Grace Omaruke Oshiname secured the positions of 1st Runner-Up and 2nd Runner-Up, respectively.
Organized under the banner of the Maman Aviaworld Initiative, a non-profit organization focused on mentorship, education, and skills development, the Miss Aviation Nigeria Empowerment Initiative highlights the critical role of women and youth in shaping Nigeria’s aviation sector. The program aims to ease access to aviation careers, which are often financially demanding, while raising awareness and inspiring young talent to pursue opportunities in the industry.
The finalists, distinguished by aviation-inspired call signs, exemplified focus, discipline, and excellence throughout the competition. Their performances not only showcased their talent but also underscored the importance of breaking barriers and nurturing the next generation of aviation professionals.
At the end of the evening:
Miss Foxtrot (Mercy Otiaba) took home the crown as the 4th Miss Aviation Nigeria Empowerment Initiative.
Miss Alpha (Chiemelie Nnadozie) earned the 1st Runner-Up spot.
Miss Golf (Grace Omaruke Oshiname) was awarded the 2nd Runner-Up title.
Other remarkable contestants included Dorathy Timbri Tyokegh (Miss Delta), Nkemakonam Cynthia Amaizu (Miss Charlie), Confidence Ololade Ajayi (Miss Echo), and Nicole Chinonye Chukwu (Miss Bravo).
The top three winners received accolades and awards for their exceptional efforts.
Ololade Adenekan, Convener of the Maman Aviaworld Initiative, reiterated the program’s purpose during her speech:
