Actress and popular TV show host and actress, Alexander Mercy is set to celebrate her birthday in grand style tomorrow, Monday, January 11 with aged mothers in Lagos. In a chat with The Sun Newspapers the presenter of popular TV show, The Gallery disclosed her plans.

She said: “I feel so happy and grateful to Almighty God for making me add another year because without him I am nobody. He has been so merciful. Without him I am nothing! He has shown me so much love and grace.  He has been so merciful and amazing and showered me with so much love. There are so many people who are younger than me or who are my mates but are no more today. God has so elevated me and I feel so honoured hence I am compelled to give back on my birthday.”

Speaking on how she plans to spend her birthday she continued: “I will be celebrating with our aged mothers and widows. 2020 was a rough year. No thanks to the corona virus pandemic. The need to reach out to the less privileged and those on the fringes of our society cannot be over emphasised and that is the reason why this year I am spending it with our aged mothers. I will be giving out wrappers, rice and cash courtesy of my NGO, Mercy Alexander Foundation.”

Lady Jagaban as she is popularly known,  Mercy Alexander practically grew up in the streets, clawing her way up the steep slope of life through sheer hard work and determination. Imbued with street wisdom, Mercy Alexander is today a successful broadcaster and the popular anchor of The Gallery, a programme that celebrates great achievers and which airs on multiple platforms including NTA, DStv and StarTimes.
