- First Lady Tinubu Acknowledges Contributions of Nigerian Workforce, Encourages Productivity

President Bola Tinubu has reassured Nigerian workers of his commitment to not only improving their welfare but also enhancing their working conditions and providing them with the necessary tools for success. He believes that workers, as the custodians of the nation’s machinery, deserve fair wages, enhanced welfare, and recognition for their contributions.
“The President salutes Nigerian workers for their fidelity to the peace, progress, and development of the nation evident in their tireless efforts and patriotic zeal to keep the national engine running,” a statement by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, reads.
President Tinubu congratulated workers on the auspicious occasion, describing them as the lifeblood of the country. He expressed his appreciation for their tireless efforts and patriotic zeal in keeping the national engine running.
The President highlighted his administration’s commitment to improving worker welfare through various relief programs, including wage awards and the upcoming minimum wage review. He emphasised his belief that workers deserve fair compensation and enhanced working conditions.
“The President affirms that his administration remains committed to improving the welfare of all workers, noting the various relief programmes, including the wage award and the imminent minimum wage review,” the statement continues.
“President Tinubu strongly believes that the custodians of the nation’s machinery deserve a fair wage and enhanced welfare and that a labourer is deserving of not just any reward but fair and commensurate wages.”
President Tinubu assured workers of his dedication to not only improving their welfare but also enhancing their working conditions and providing them with the necessary tools for success. He wished them a Happy May Day celebration.
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu also acknowledged the immense contributions of the nation’s workforce, praising their dedication, resilience, and innovation. She particularly saluted teachers, farmers, doctors, nurses, engineers, and countless others who contribute to building a better Nigeria.
“Today, let us not only celebrate work, but also reflect on how we can be a better and more productive workforce,” Mrs. Tinubu said in a statement.
