It was a black tie event at the posh Eve Restaurant in Victoria Island, Lagos. Amidst cocktails, canapés and conversations, closest buddies of marketing guru and erstwhile Consumer Segments Manager for MTN Nigeria, Kelvin Orifa, on the night of Saturday June 17 stormed the hangout to celebrate the debonair dude who resigned from the leading telco recently and floated his own.

It was a night of tributes to an amiable Orifa who really impacted a whole lot  while he worked with the South African telecommunications giant. Perhaps what would pass as the most memorable moment of the night was a powerful speech by Orifa’s wife, Mary who said: “I may be apprehensive of speaking in public but I am not apprehensive of the future because I believe in you”.

As he enters another stage of his life, Orifa is now the founder/CEO of EMBLUE, a new media and marketing company focusing on connecting consumers and companies in Africa and helping companies outside of Africa to access the African market. Prior to founding EMBLUE, Kelvin, as a brand and Go -To -Market strategy professional, has huge experience in managing and driving consumer acquisitions and engagements using music and entertainment as a key tool. He has worked on several products launches, development of customer loyalty offers and music initiatives by leveraging on mobile technology to help in addressing the problem of music distribution and monetization in Nigeria positioning MTN as the largest digital music distributor in Africa. Orifa has spoken at various brands and music conferences in Nigeria and abroad. He resigned from MTN in May 2017 to focus on EMBLUE.
