A Chief Magistrate’s Court in Osogbo, Osun State, has remanded Agunbiade Tomilayo, a 49-year-old man, in Ilesa Correctional Centre, for allegedly threatening a person’s life and encroaching on his farmland.
Tomilayo was arraigned yesterday on five counts related to threats to life, encroachment, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
The prosecutor, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, Dopamu Olukayode, alleged that Tomilayo forcibly entered the farm owned by Pastor Idowu Amos and threatened him with a cutlass.
He said the conduct of the defendant, contravened the provision of Section 86 of the Criminal Code (Cap 34, Vol. II), law of Osun State, 2002.
Tomilayo pleaded not guilty to the charges.
His counsel, Kayode Adepoju, urged the court to grant him bail in a liberal term, pending the trial of the case.
Magistrate Oyindamola Daramola, ordered Tomilayo’s remand at the Ilesha Correctional Center and transferred the case to Ilesa.
She subsequently adjourned the case to February 17, 2026, for mention.
