The former Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, has declared his intention to contest the Owerri Senatorial seat in 2027 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), promising a “paradigm shift” toward sustainable and inclusive representation.

Speaking to journalists in Owerri, Madumere stated that the time had come for a new dawn in the senatorial zone, pledging impactful and holistic leadership if elected. He described himself as a human development and business expert with a blueprint specifically tailored to the needs of his constituents.

“Owerri Senatorial Zone deserves the best in the next National Assembly. I have the capacity, acumen, and dexterity to provide people-oriented representation,” Madumere said.

He cited the PDP’s grassroots orientation, national spread, and “progressive minds” as the reasons for choosing the platform. For now, he stated that his focus remains on strategic engagement, consultations, and mobilising the electorate.

“I am determined and resolute. Going by my pedigree, experience, exposure, reach, and contact, I stand a better chance to clinch my party’s ticket,” he said. “The electorate are the determinant of where the pendulum swings.”

Madumere, who described himself as a technocrat, argued that the Owerri Zone requires “excellent representation, not experimentation” and promised a robust vision involving youth empowerment, infrastructure revival, and human capital development.

“I am offering myself unconditionally to my people. Elect me to serve you in the Senate. I will not disappoint,” he concluded.
