Madam Ayodele Lawal, Nee Saliu (Mama Teacher), will be buried at Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, today.
Mrs. Lawal died on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the age of 85 years.
According to one of her children, Mrs Doyin Olaitan, senior staff of First Bank PLC, Mama’s burial ceremony started on Tuesday, January 6 with service of songs at Foursquare Gospel Church, Salvation Chapel, 19, Ajayi Aina Street, Dehinde Bus Stop, Ifako-Gbagada, Lagos.
Mrs Olaitan said the Wake- keep service took place yesterday at Mama Teacher’s House, 5, Sabram Street, Irewon, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
The lying-in-state, she said, holds today while the funeral service follows at The African Church Ijebu Diocese, Holy Trinity Cathedral (Bethel), Imepe by Lagos Garage, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
A private internment for Madam Lawal will be held immediately after the service while reception follows at the church hall.
She is survived by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and relatives.
