Looters will incur God’s wrath – MFM leaders

Some leaders of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry (MFM), a Nigerian Pentecostal church, on July 19, paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of The Sun Publishing Limited in Lagos. At the meeting, the church strongly affirmed that looting of government treasury was highly condemnable.
Chairman, media committee of the church, Pastor Oladele Bank-Olemoh, who represented the General Overseer of MFM, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, led many other church officials to the event.
Bank-Olemoh, who delivered the General Overseer’s message, said stealing from the public coffers was a clog in the wheel of the country’s progress. He said that Nigerians must be aware that those involved in stealing and impunity would not go unpunished.
“There are so many things that are wrong in this country. Stealing and impunity have gained so much weight in the system. But our people must know that God is angry with the wicked every day. They can never get away with their evil. When you loot people’s money to enrich yourself, you have incurred God’s wrath upon yourself and your family. Such loot cannot benefit either you or your family. ” He added.
The church also called on the media, as the Fourth Estate of the Realm, to always rise above board in ensuring that only well balanced stories get to the public. Pastor Bank-Olemoh charged that every necessary angle must be explored, adding that all sides must be given a fair hearing before journalists dole out their stories. “This is our humble advice to ensure smooth reportage and progress in our society,” he counselled.
According to the pastor, the general overseer of the church hardly made public statements and barely features in public issues. Said he: “Our G.O. would not do things except he is led by the Spirit of God. As a result of his person, many people believe he is proud, and this is misrepresentation of his humble nature. He is a simple and quiet man of God. He encourages the Christians to be actively involved in politics so as to ensure a better society. We are a welfare-concerned church.”
MFM, Bank-Olemoh said, had enlarged its coast beyond the spiritual deliverance. Having noticed the myriad of Nigerian youths that are wasting away, the church, he informed, established sports competitions as well as other trainings provided for the youths.
Bank-Olemoh charged Nigerians to embrace prayers at this time more than ever before. He said the church had the mandate to train people to communicate directly with God, without necessarily relying on their pastors. This, he said, would help deliver the afflicted from the bondage of Satan.
Said he: “Our G.O. had this vision in 1977, but the dream did not begin to materialise until 1989. Today, we are renowned all over the world with a clear mandate of teaching people on how to fight for themselves and get delivered from the shackles of demons. If you don’t pray fire-prayers, you are wasting your time. Today’s demons have gone nuclear, and only spiritually nuclear warfare can help defeat them.”
The visitors were received by the Editor, Daily Sun, Mr. Onuoha Ukeh, General Manager, Marketing and Corporate Services, Mrs. Neta Nwosu, Deputy Editor, Daily Sun, Mr. Femi Adeoti and Associate Editor, Mr. Chika Abanobi.
