A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has warned the African Democratic Congress (ADC) leadership—headed by David Mark—to stop blaming President Bola Tinubu for its current crisis.
Oyintiloye, in a statement on Monday, said accusations pointing to Tinubu were “disturbing and inaccurate.” He urged the delisted ADC leadership to be “courageous” enough to tell Nigerians the truth, instead of tagging Tinubu as responsible for problems within the party.
Oyintiloye argued that Tinubu is the President, not a court of law or a person who ordered the ADC to revert to its pre-merger executives. He said the matter is before the Federal High Court, instituted by a member of the party.
He said Tinubu cannot be blamed because he is not part of the judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal and has no role in “unnecessary political matters.”
He also stated that the decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to recognise any faction of the ADC until litigation is resolved was not Tinubu’s doing, but a consequence of a court ruling.

Oyintiloye advised ADC to look inward and resolve its internal crisis rather than engage in blame.
He counselled politicians to follow the rules and avoid actions that could later become liabilities, adding that “blackmail” would not fix the situation and the party should return to the drawing board and re-strategise.
Addressing claims that Nigeria is drifting toward a one-party system, Oyintiloye said there are 21 recognised political parties registered by INEC, and most—if not all—would participate in the 2027 elections, including ADC.
He warned opposition leaders against spreading false information about the 2027 elections and urged them to focus on solving their internal challenges.
He concluded that no amount of “campaign of calumny” would prevent President Tinubu from winning the 2027 elections “in a landslide.”
