A legal practitioner, Tiamiyu Sule Adegboyega Omoloye, is one of the 12 princes that have shown interest in the vacant obaship stool of Eko-Ende, a community in Ifelodun North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Osun State.
The stool became vacant on Sunday, March 23, when Oba Rauf Olaniyan Ajiboye joined his ancestors. He was from Olaigbo ruling house.
Before Oba Ajiboye was Oba Raji Oladosu, who was from the Eesaorun section of the Ayedun ruling house. Ayedun Ruling House has three sections; Obatiwajoye, Aromawe and Eesaorun. And with the departure of the last king from Olaigbo ruling house, the other two remaining sections of the ruling house – Obatiwajoye and Aromaye, are expected to produce the next successor.
In a family meeting on October 11, under the supervision of officials from the LCDA, 12 candidates were confirmed to have collected forms, having been duly nominated by stakeholders from the ruling house. Among the candidates is an Osogbo-based legal practitioner, Omoloye, from Obatiwajoye section of Ayedun royal ruling House. He holds a Masters Degree in Law from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State.
Other nominees, according to the minutes of the family meeting jointly signed by
Bamigbade Tijani Omosanjo and Oyekunle Sulaiman, secretary Ayedun ruling house, and head of Ayedun ruling house of Eko Endem respectively are Jimoh Lateef Bababtunde, Adebisi YunusaAdeniyi, Adeboye Samuel, and Waheed Adekunle. Others are Aroyehun, Oladosu Wahab Abiodun and Oladosu Isiaka.
It is expected that, soon, the government would come up with a decision on how to settle the chieftaincy issue in the sleepy town.
