Citing an alleged breach of contract, the Chairman, House Committee on Interior, Hon Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed, has threatened to sue Air Peace Limited.

“I paid about N12 million for a business class ticket on 22 March 2024 and we were supposed to depart Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport on March 27 to Jeddah for lesser hajj,” Ahmed told reporters in an interview on Sunday in Katsina, adding y that, “but the Air Peace changed the ticket to economy class without compensation.”

Ahmed who represents Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency of Katsina State lamented further that flight P4752 “was supposed to depart Kano airport on 27 March 2024 but it was delayed till the next day.”

Describing what he termed a consistent record of flight disruptions, poor customer experience and poor handling of passengers by Air Peace as inhuman, alarming and unacceptable, Ahmed said that, “this is a clear case of a breach of contract by Air Peace.

“They should pay back the money otherwise I will be left with no option but to approach the court for redress.”

He said that the legal action was imperative arguing that the scenario between him and Air Peace is one of the numerous abnormalities customers are forced to suffer in the Nigerian aviation sector.

He vowed to work with his colleagues at the National Assembly to ensure that Air Peace and other erring airlines are sanctioned appropriately without fear or favour, saying that it should no longer be business as usual.
