Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, said he would consolidate on the peace and other achievements recorded by his administration if given the mandate for a second tenure.
Lalong disclosed this after voting at his Ajikamai polling unit with his wife, Regina, in Ajikamai village of Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State.
“I will win the election by God’s grace and I will consolidate on what we started in the state. We will improve on the current peace and complete the projects that we have started.
“When I secure the second tenure, I will be more focused because I will not be talking about re-election again. I will be focused on the completion of the projects (I started) and initiation of new ones.”
He described the exercise as peaceful, noting that people came out very early to exercise their franchise unlike in the presidential and National Assembly elections in which voting started very late.
He said the APC was already smiling and talking about how his victory would be celebrated.
Lalong said the losers of the election should learn to accept defeat at the end of the day all in the spirit of sportsmanship and allow peace to reign in the state.
