Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has commiserated with Former Deputy Governor of the state, Dame Pauline Tallen, over the demise of her husband, Miskoom Lawrence Katkwap Tallen.
Lalong, who visited Dame Tallen in her family residence, in Jos, along Atiku Abubakar Street, Rayfield, said late Tallen was instrumental to his impressive political outing, right from time he became Speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly.
Dame Tallen had respectfully turned down an ambassadorial nomination last year to cater for her sick husband who unfortunately passed on last week at the age of 84.
He noted that despite the political incapacitation of late Tallen as a result of protracted illness, he gave him useful political advise on sick bed that translated to his political fortunes.
Lalong who is of the same ethnic extraction with Dame Pauline Tallen, regretted the passing of her husband at the critical time he needed his political wisdom to maneuver Plateau out of economic and political turbulence.
“The news of the demise of late Miskoom Katkwap Tallen came to us as a surprise, though he died after a protracted illness. Plateau people stood with you when he was on sick bed, and we would continue to stand by you in this hard time.
“It is difficult to cope with this kind of losses, but we would urged you and Gomai nation to take solace in the fact that your beloved husband has gone to rest from the sorrow and anguish of this world.”
Lalong who was on the condolence visit with his Deputy, Prof. Sonni Tyoden, APC BoT member, Amb. Yahaya Kwande, SSG, Hon. Rufus Bature, Chief of Staff, John Dafan and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dan Manjang among others urged her to be strong, while praying that God would give her the courage and strength to cope with the loss.
