Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to advancing academic excellence, educational development, and innovation in the state, while creating a conducive socio-economic environment for students to thrive.

Governor Sanwo-Olu made the statement during the unveiling of several new educational infrastructure projects, including an ultra-modern block of classrooms, a mini football pitch, and a multi-purpose sports court at Keme Balogun Junior/Senior College in Ibeshe, Ikorodu.

The Governor also inaugurated an ultra-modern block of classrooms at Ajegunle Junior High School, Owode-Onirin, Kosofe, Lagos, alongside other projects aimed at improving the state’s educational facilities.

The projects were commissioned simultaneously across the six education districts of Lagos State in an event organised by the Special Committee on the Rehabilitation of Public Schools (SCRPS).

Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasised that these developments were part of the state’s vision to make Lagos a bigger, better, and bolder city with a human-centric approach to governance.

In her remarks, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Tolani Alli-Balogun, highlighted that the sixteen new school projects represent a significant milestone in the history of Lagos State.

She praised the administration for its continued investment in creating a conducive environment for students, particularly by improving school facilities, which include adding sports amenities and water systems to develop students’ diverse skills.

Chairman of the Special Committee on the Rehabilitation of Public Schools, Hakeem Smith, along with other stakeholders at the event, commended the administration for its dedication to enhancing the quality of education through the development of physical infrastructure. They expressed confidence that the new projects would act as a catalyst for the academic development of students across Lagos State.
