The 7th edition of the JOF U-13 Football Tournament 2026, organised by the Lagos State Grassroots Football Association and proudly sponsored by JOF Nigeria Limited, is approaching an exciting climax as the competition enters its semi-final stage.
Since kicking off on February 6, the tournament has brought together 64 teams representing 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across Lagos State. Over the course of the competition, 84 matches have been played across three venues, showcasing the remarkable talent and potential of young footballers from grassroots communities throughout the state.
Speaking ahead of the semi-finals, Mr. Adeyinka Adetunji, Managing Director, Transportation Division, JOF Nigeria Limited, and Chairman of the Tournament Organising Committee, expressed enthusiasm about this year’s edition, describing it as one of the most competitive and exciting in the tournament’s history.
“The JOF U-13 Football Tournament continues to provide a valuable platform for discovering and nurturing young football talents across Lagos State. This year’s competition has produced exceptional performances, and we expect the semi-finals and final stages to deliver even more excitement,” he said.
The semi-final matches involving Soccer City FA of Iwaya versus VI Foot, Ijori and Ultimate FA, Coker against Fortune FA, Oshodi are scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 6, at the CMS Primary School Playing Ground, Bariga, in Somolu Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Meanwhile, a press conference has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, at the JOF Nigeria Limited Corporate Headquarters in Oregun, Ikeja. The event will officially unveil the finalists for the 2026 edition and announce details of the grand finale, including the match date, venue and awards ceremony.
With the tournament nearing its conclusion, all eyes are now on the semi-finalists as they battle for a coveted place in the JOF U-13 Football Tournament final and the opportunity to etch their names into the competition’s growing legacy.
