By Christopher Oji, Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has rescued three infants locked up in a dark room without food for four days by their grandmother.

The malnourished infants who are between the ages of two and four were rescued on Wednesday by police operatives from Ikotun Division.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Benjamin Hundyin confirmed the story, saying that, “at about 4 am on April 17, 2024, information was received at Ikotun police division that three children, a girl and two boys between the ages of two and four were locked up by their grandmother, Fatimo Ganiyu, around Agodo Egbe Ikotun.

“The DPO immediately led a team of Anti-crime detectives to the scene and the children were rescued and taken to the station. They were looking malnourished and unhealthy. The suspect was arrested while the infants will be transferred to the appropriate centre for proper medical treatment and care. Investigation is ongoing,” Hundyin stated.
