Tributes have continued to pour in for Mr. Babajide Boye, a law officer with the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, following his retirement from public service.
Boye, popularly described as the “Golden Boy” of the ministry, was commended by a coalition of gender rights, child protection and civil society organisations for his integrity, professionalism and commitment to justice.
In a statement, the groups, including The Gender Advocates, Bruised But Not Broken Foundation, Stop the Abuse of Women and Children Foundation, The Safe Haven Foundation, Centre Against Injustice and Domestic Violence (CAIDOV), Child Protection Network and Women Arise for Change Initiative, described Boye as a diligent and principled public servant.
They said his years of service reflected honesty, impartiality and dedication to the rule of law, adding that his contribution to the administration of justice in Lagos would remain a reference point.
“As he takes a bow, we celebrate a career built on honour, hard work and the rule of law. The administration of justice and the people of Lagos are better for having had him serve,” the groups said.
They wished Boye sound health, greater achievements and continued impact in the next phase of his life, declaring that although the “Golden Boy” had retired, his legacy of service would endure.
