The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 80 drug suspects and dismantled 16 notorious drug joints in Kano State.
This was disclosed in a statement on Tuesday by the agency’s Public Relations Officer, Sadiq Mohammed Maigatari.
According to Maigatari, the week-long operation targeted major drug spots across the state. The dislodged locations include Filin Mahaha, Koki, Dorayi, Rijiyar Lemo, Karanchi, Kazawa Kurmi, Zage, Gwammaja, Masaka and Panshekara.
He said NDLEA officers recovered a wide range of illicit substances and paraphernalia during the raids. The items include cannabis sativa, diazepam, Exol-5, rubber solution and a locally named substance called “Suck and Die.” Other items recovered were cutting agents, packaging materials, locally manufactured weapons and tools used in the drug trade.

Maigatari added that the suspects will be processed and prosecuted in accordance with the law. He noted that investigations were ongoing to identify and dismantle wider trafficking networks in the state.
Reaffirming the agency’s commitment to restoring order and protecting communities, he warned those still involved in drug activities to desist.
“The NDLEA will not relent until Kano is drug-free,” he said.
