The Lagos State Government has approved 37, 266 building permits in the last six years under the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

This was revealed by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, during the 2025 ministerial press briefing, yesterday.

According to Olumide, the permits covered a wide range of property types, including residential, commercial, mixed-use and institutional buildings.

In 2024 alone, the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) approved permits for 95 hospitals, 27 petrol stations, 151 shopping malls and 95 schools, among others.

Highlighting the impact of the recently concluded Amnesty Programme, the Commissioner noted that the initiative spurred an increase in compliance by property owners seeking to regularise their buildings.
