Lagos State Government has said about 1,000 new bus-stops and lay-bys under construction across the state, will soon be completed to ease traffic flow.

The lay-bys and slip roads are constructed with installation of wire mesh fencing to bring about orderliness on the highways.

Commissioner for Home Affairs, Dr. AbdulLateef AbdulHakeem, who made the disclosure yesterday, also urged Lagosians to watch out for more people-oriented projects springing up across the 20 local government and 37 local council development areas.

While pronouncing Governor Akinwunmi Ambode as a special blessing from God, to the people of the state, the commissioner said despite the current economic challenges in the country, Lagos would “continue to witness more development projects, because the state is in capable and competent hands.”

AbdulHakeem described the ongoing Oshodi Transport Interchange as a reflection of the current administration’s resolve to bring about the turnaround development in the state’s transportation sector.

“Although Lagos state is not a stranger to progressive leadership, especially since the defining era of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Ambode has raised the tempo of people-oriented governance, with ongoing massive infrastructure projects, dotting the entire landscape of the state.
