The Labour Party in Lagos State has received a significant boost ahead of the upcoming local government elections as the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) officially issued nomination forms to the party.
This development confirms the party’s eligibility to participate in the July 12 Local Government Area (LGA) elections, putting to rest speculations about its status on the ballot.
According to a credible source within the party, the forms were granted to the authentic leadership of the Labour Party in Lagos, headed by Pastor Dr. Dayo Ekong and under the national leadership of Barrister Julius Abure.
“This is a victory for all Labour Party members in Lagos and across the nation.
“It confirms that the real Labour Party, with its legitimate leadership, will be represented in the upcoming elections,” the source said.
Party members have expressed excitement and optimism, describing the development as a major milestone in the struggle for credible representation at the grassroots level.
With this development, the Labour Party will now set the stage for a competitive race in the state’s grassroots political landscape.
