Eight out of the nine abductees of Apostolic Faith Group of Schools, Emure Ekiti in Emure Local Government Area of Ekiti state have been released by their abductors.

The released victims, including five pupils and three teachers were said to have regained their freedom in the early hours of Sunday except a bus driver.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ekiti State Command, DSP Sunday Abutu, who confirmed the release on Sunday morning, said the bus driver is suspected to have been killed by the abductors.

According to him, “All victims were rescued today at about 1.30am, but unfortunately, we lost the driver who was susceptibly killed by the abductors.”

On whether any arrest has been made in connection with the abduction, Abutu said, “Not yet but the operation shall continue as we want to ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended and made to face the full wrath of the law.”

The abductees were kidnapped on Monday evening in a school bus along Emure – Eporo Road in Emure- Ekiti, while returning to Eporo after closing from school.

The abductors attacked the school bus and abducted five pupils, three teachers and the driver who were among the occupants of the bus.
