Keep relationship matters off social media – Eva Chris

Fast-rising Nollywood actress and skit maker, Eva Chris, has expressed her disappointment over the ongoing marital crisis between her colleague, Regina Daniels, and her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.

In a recent chat with Saturday Sun, the curvy thespian emphasized the need for celebrities to handle relationship and marital issues privately rather than on social media.

Speaking candidly, she said: “In this Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko issue, I’ll place the blame at the feet of the adults in the room when that marriage was conceived — that would be Ned and Regina’s mum. The generation gap between Ned and Regina is so wide that there’s almost zero chance of that marriage working. What they each perceive as right and wrong is totally different, so how can it work? It might have stood a better chance in 1995, when there were no Saida Bojs and gehgehs on the internet urging you to do crazy things, hahaha.”

When asked if she believed the internet played a role in the breakdown of the marriage, Chris noted: “The internet is such a huge part of our lives now, and no matter how much you try to ignore that reality, it’s still the truth. Regina also shares part of the blame. This separation could have been far less messy without a ring light. Nobody on the internet is pitying you; you’re just another gist, another clickbait. I just hope they both put down their phones and save whatever’s left, because there’s still more than enough worth saving.”

Sharing her advice for young women tempted to rush into marriage for financial reasons, the actress stated: “I think young girls should be truly ready before stepping into something as serious as marriage. In Regina’s case, I don’t think it was really her decision. But whenever it becomes your decision, remember that marriage is too sacred to be handled online. Unless going public is your last resort, don’t bring your marital issues to social media — otherwise, skit makers and bloggers will turn your pain into their next paycheck.”

As the year 2025 winds down, Chris expressed gratitude for life and personal growth.

“The first thing I feel is gratitude — gratitude for life. Living in Nigeria is honestly tough, and for those of us who have made it this far, we deserve a badge of honour, hahaha. I’m thankful for life, for growth — maybe not as fast as planned, but I’m definitely not where I was in January, and that’s something to be grateful for,” she concluded.
