Kebbi pays N154.7m for varsity students’ school fees

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has approved the release of over N154.7 millions for the payment of registration fees of continuing students of Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto and Adamu Augie College of Education, Argungu for 2016/2017.

The Governor approved N95,745,000.00 for continuing students of Usman Danfodio and more than N59 millions for College of Education students.

The Governor did not reveal the total number of the beneficiaries.

Governor Bagudu, who confirmed the release of the fund, on Wednesday, through his Chief Press Secretary, Abubakar Mu’azu Dakingari, said his administration would continue to give education a priority.

It would be recalled that state government had appointed verification committee’s to screen all students in various tertiary institutions in Nigeria and abroad.

The committee is to ensure that all indigenes of the state are paid their allowances and registration.

Bagudu said his administration would ensure the provision of quality education to all indigenes of Kebbi State.
