“This was what necessitated setting up a committee, headed by the Commissioner for Health to come up with modalities that could see the relocation of certain departments from Sir Yahyah Memorial Hospital to Kalgo Special Hospital in order to pave the way for remodelling.”
“Now, the government on its own, appreciated the pains people are going through with this relocation and certain things have been put in place in order to cushion the effects on the staff, as well as the patients of the memorial hospital.”
He disclosed that the state government has provided buses for the staff of the memorial hospital that would be going to the general hospital everyday and standby ambulances for the patients everyday.
He assured the public that all other departments at the memorial hospital were still functioning as expected, stressing that after remodelling, the hospital would serve as a training centre for medical doctors who are on internship.
