The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has intercepted a Toyota Corolla bearing a suspected fake presidency number plate.

According to a Tuesday statement by the PPRO, SP Josephine Adeh, the vehicle was intercepted at about 2:35 pm on Monday, October 26 following credible intelligence.

She disclosed that the black Toyota Corolla with registration number M01-997 FG was driven by one Mr. Agbogun Benard.

Adeh added that the vehicle was taken to the FCT Police Command Headquarters for discreet investigation.

“During preliminary investigation, the driver of the vehicle could not give satisfactory explanation as to the source of the registration number,” she said.

Adeh said investigations were ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding its allocation, ownership and use, as well as the authenticity of the registration particulars.

The command urged residents to remain law-abiding and promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station or through the emergency numbers 08032003913, 08061581938.
