Katsina State Governor, Umaru Dikko Radda, has said the people will determine the projects to be included in the 2027 budget.
“Governance must begin with listening to the people who elected the government,” Radda said yesterday adding: “Every citizen, regardless of political affiliation, age, gender, religion, occupation or social status, has another opportunity to influence government decisions and identify projects and programmes that matter most to their communities.”

He spoke during a town hall meeting at the Charanchi ward, in continuation of his tour of the 361 wards across the state, as part of efforts “to deepen citizens’ participation in governance and ensure the 2027 budget reflects the priorities of local communities.”
He spoke further: “Development is a continuous process. Resources are limited, while the needs of our people continue to grow. I assure you that no genuine request is ignored. Where immediate implementation is not possible, such requests remain under consideration for subsequent budgets and interventions.”
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Malik Anas, said: “Several ongoing projects in education, healthcare, water supply, agriculture, rural infrastructure, youth empowerment and community development are direct outcomes of the voices of citizens during last year’s consultations.
“This is what participatory governance truly represents, government planning with the people and for the people.”
