Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has forwarded the names of six commissioner nominees to the Kano State House of Assembly for their approval.
The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Ismail Jibrin Falgore, disclosed this yesterday, while reading the Governor’s letter at the plenary.
The nominees were former Chief of Staff to the Governor, Shehu Sagagi, Dr Dahiru Hashim, Ibrahim Waiya, Dr Isma’il Dan-Maraya, Gaddafi Shehu and Abdulkadir AbdulSalam.
The nominations followed the cabinet reshuffle announced by the governor last week, which saw the office of chief of staff abolished and five commissioners removed.
The reshuffle also saw the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Baffa Bichi, relieved of his duties for health reasons.
The dropped commissioners included Ibrahim Jibril Fagge of Finance Ministry, Ladidi Ibrahim Garko, Culture and Tourism; Baba Halilu Dantiye, Information and Internal Affairs, Shehu Aliyu Yammedi, Special Duties and Abbas Sani Abbas, Rural and Community Development.
