The Senator representing Kano Central Federal Constituency in the Senate, Rufai Hanga has offered explanation regarding his decision to donate clay pots and burial brocades to his constituency..

Hanga, during a press conference at his office on State Road, explained that the gesture was in line with the tradition of his family and the tradition of the people of the state.

He explained the gesture was not entirely new as is being portrayed by his opponents adding that he had been extending similar donations to his constituency even before becoming their Senator

“We made the donation to Kano State committee for the graveyards headed by Dangoribar Kano and district head of Tarauni Local Government. We had found out that clay pots were lacking in most of our graveyards and decided to donate,” he explained.

“It was donated based on their request and in the presence of Ulamas, Imams and traditional rulers. Therefore all these criticisms from some group of individuals will not deter me from doing this kind of donation, which I do to find Allah’s love and mercy,” he said

The Senator further explained that despite his health challenges after his elections in which he spent 10 months in hospitals in Nigeria and abroad, he was able to include several developmental projects in the 2024 budget for his constituency.

He added that he had managed to make meaningful contributions to the law making process with a view to making life meaningful for his constituency and for Nigerians.

He said he would be up and doing to ensure that his constituency projects in the 2924 budget are implemented for the betterment of his constituents.
