Kano State Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo Garba, yesterday decorated newly promoted senior police officers in the Command with their new ranks.
The 272 personnel ncluded: four Chief Superintendent of Police (CSPs),promoted to the rank of Assistant (ACP), 50 Superintendent of Police (SPs) promoted to the rank of CSP, 32 Deputy Suprintendet of Police (DSPs) promoted to SPs and182 Assistant Suprintendet of Police (ASPs) promoted to the rank of DSP.
In his remarks, the Commissioner of Police urged the promoted officers to remain patriotic and show dedication to duty as their new ranks came with greater challenges.
He expressed joy at the mass promotion of the officers from his Command, saying the mass promotion of officers was unprecedented in the history of the Command.
Dogo also expressed gratitude to God, the President, Bola Tinubu, Chairman of Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Inspector General of Police, for ensuring the promotion of such large number of police officers in his Command.
“To whom honour is given much is expected. I wish to remind you that, this is another challenges for you. I wish you more success in your endeavours,” he said.
